Session Costs

Counselling sessions with me are billed as stated above.  Note that the 10 minutes at the end of each appointment is part of the clinical hour and used to write session notes.  I accept Cash and/or Cheque.  Please be aware that MSI does not cover the costs of seeing a clinical Social Worker in Nova Scotia. If you have an extended health plan (i.e. Maritime Life, Blue Cross) our services may be fully or partially reimbursable.  I do not bill direct to insurance companies but if you have coverage you can submit your paid receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Please note, if you miss an appointment without 24 hrs notice you will be billed for a full session.  Also, the cost of a NSF cheque is $42.00.

• Medavie Blue Cross and many other insurance providers.
• Perferred Employee Assistance provider (Shepell FGI, Homewood Human Solutions, Ceridian Lifeworks, Nova Scotia Dept. of Justice (Criminal Injuries Counselling Program), Nova Scotia Dept. of Community Services/Child Welfare - Policy 75).
  
• Benefits coverage does vary by provider so its important that you check what credentials are required by your therapist before you start treatment.
• Sometimes benefits coverage is a deciding factor in treatment and if so do let me know so I can make sure I connect you with the right person and at times offer a 'sliding scale'.
